The painting is in very good condition although it could do with a light clean in the margins.
Artist – John Williamson Fl late 19th/early 20th century.

Not a great deal is known about the artist, John Williamson, he is known for illustrating quite a few late Victorian and early Edwardian books.
This is one of approx 40 original works from the A & C Black archives we have acquired and will be putting online over the next few days. This will include Nico Jungman paintings as well original art for Robinson Crusoe, various Simon Harmon Vedder oils for Walter Scott books and many others.
